Sneak (Visual) Preview of Pogrom’s New Noise

April 8, 2012

Here’s an image from the booklet for the next release of Pogrom, an album now titled To You I Bequeath. The photo itself was taken by a femetalhead named Cori, also known as livingdeadgirll.

This love for you shall forever be unrequited

The caption on the bottom of it is This love for you shall forever be unrequieted (sic) which will be a track on the album.
Sound-wise, the album will  sound nothing like Pogrom’s previous work, taking a definite atmospheric, doomy approach. Primarily this is due to the fact that my personal listening choices have ventured further into that territory, as well as the fact that my own inner voice is speaking to me slower and with heavy air.
As more Pogrom news happens, you’ll know. Thanks for reading.

Bullshit Acres Crushes the Mind; Terrorizer Likes Our Boys

Legions of Crows have finished the video for “Bullshit Acres” from the album Stab Me, and it’s been posted onto YouTube for just a little over a week now. As of this post, we’ve reached 114 views. Far from viral, but still impressive nonetheless. Keep those views coming, and share the shit out of this video!

Also in the good news section for Legions of Crows is a few very nice words from England’s own Terrorizer Magazine, who featured a review of the album as well as the song “Bullshit Acres” on their Fear Candy covermount CD for issue 219. The same track is also appearing on the CD for Terrorizer’s Secret History of… Doom Metal issue, and in the “Future of Doom” section in the magazine a short blurb is found about the band. Photos of the reviews and the like are found at the Funeral Rain Records Facebook page, and soon to be on the page devoted to the album.

Spectre Re-Entering Studio for Veins of the Earth

February 20, 2012

Spectre - Veins of the Earth

Newcastle’s Spectre, scheduled to release the Veins of the Earth EP is re-entering the studio to record the EP over. Says Angier:

“I was really unhappy with the way things were progressing with the mixing and the timing of the songs, so we’re going back into them and making them right. No half-arsed shit is allowed on this EP.”

Along with re-recorded guitars and bass, the drums will be redone as well. This time the kit will be manned by ANTI of Ryyzsla/Intra Tenebrae/Auld fame, who is also mixing and mastering the EP.
Nekromaniac, the vocalist of Spectre, as well as the sole member of Norðrodor, Hremmgiefstol, Cryptic Winterstorm, Gates of Scorn, and Depressive Moonlight, and instrumentalist of Desolate Winds and Diabolus Ritus, is reworking the lyrics to help them fit with the new arrangements.
The artwork is also taking a reworking, from a simple 4-panel Digipak to a 6-panel with an 8-page booklet, as well as a modified version for the J-card of the cassette edition. The art will consist of photography from Ash Burn, the vocalist/lyricist/artist of Somne and Desolate Winds.
The EP is currently preselling for a mere $6.66 plus shipping from the Funeral Rain Records webstore. Click here to preorder it now.
