Titans Eve Photo Album – Tons of Metal Pictures – EDITED

August 12, 2011

The first Funeral Rain Records presented show was a fairly big success, as far as I am concerned. There were some minor issues, like all shows, but those were the types of issues that get smoothed over easily the more shows you put on. We chose the Artery on Jasper Avenue for several key aspects: good location, great sound, and a great rental fee that allowed us to have low ticket prices.
The bands we chose to play are all great bands, and even better dudes, and we invited them to play for those reasons, but not those reasons alone. We also chose them because all three bands are fairly different from each other, but not so different that it would put off concertgoers.
The following photo album is full of pics that were taken by myself, General Blaspheme, as well as my partner in this crime of metal passion, Cara Ashby. Cara covered almost all of Marry Me, Murder’s set, while I took care of Tessitura and Titans Eve’s photos.
I did also get a fair amount of video taken of the event, but due to the combination of a weak microphone and a loud sound system, nothing could be made out of the videos whatsoever, except horrible crackles. Sorry to those that hoped to see some footage.
If you were there, thank you.

EDIT: I have since moved the photo album to the Funeral Rain Records Facebook page. Direct Link Here.

FRR Presents Titans Eve, Tomorrw Night!

July 9, 2011

Titans Eve, July 10, with Tessitura and Marry Me, Murder

Today is the day where I get to do some press type stuff to help promote this show, which is going to blow the roof off of the Artery; but tomorrow night is the night where I get to have the real fun, seeing these killer bands live on stage.

The openers, Marry Me, Murder are a Drayton Valley based (apparently) metalcore/deathcore band who have been killing stages a lot lately, and I’m stoked to hear their sounds finally. Trying to find them on the intertubes is proving rather fruitless! Let’s change that in Edmonton, shall we?

The band No Witness was supposed to come on out, but apparently it was a scheduling problem and a miscommunication that is keeping them off the bill. In their supporting place, however, is Edmonton’s own Tessitura, who mix melodic death, thrash, power, and progressive metals into one beast. I’m excited to see these guys pull this off live, as it sounds crazy recorded.

And finally, our headliner, Vancouver’s thrash masters Titans Eve. I saw these guys live once before, exactly a year ago yesterday, and it was fucking awesome. I even did a short interview with Brian, the frontman, and since then have forged a friendship that FINALLY culminates in getting these badasses back onto an Edmonton stage.

Throughout the show you can also check out the Funeral Rain Records table and grab Ritual’s and Legions of Crows’ new albums, as well as all of the FRR distro stuff that’s not even posted on the site yet. My wife will also be there to present a bunch of her art for sale as well as for you to win!

So what do you say? Why not grab a ticket from YegLive.ca for only $10! They’re also going to be available at the door. But if you and your significant other are the first couple to show up together with YegLive.ca tix, you get a FREE and AUTOGRAPHED Titans Eve CD! How is that not a win? As an even added bonus, if you check the backs of the show posters, some of them are FREE TICKETS ALREADY! Even more win!

See you at the show.

FRR Presents Titans Eve, July 10th

July 1, 2011

It is confirmed that Funeral Rain Records WILL be presenting Titans Eve at the Artery here in Edmonton. Tickets are available through this link to YegLive.ca and will also be at the door, and either way it’s only $10 per ticket.
Drayton Valley’s Marry Me, Murder is still going to be playing the show, but it does appear that No Witness may not be able to. If that is the case, another band is going to be sought out.

Funeral Rain Records will haveĀ  a small table at the show where you can grab Ritual’s and Legions of Crows’ albums, as well as our Distro stuff. Mrs. Blaspheme will also be in attendance with some of her artwork as well.

Brian of Titans Eve has also confirmed that the first COUPLE to walk through the door of the venue with a pair of YegLive tickets will get an autographed copy of their new album The Divine Equal. So get your tickets now, and hopefully we’ll see you there.
